Notice the running theme here? No, not the toilet stories. No, not the humiliating of myself...OK, OK, there are many running themes. The one I'm talking about is me being lazy. I mean, really. I'm all bitchy and moany about not having net access and not updating etc and when I finally have access, do I update? No, I look at the computer guiltily and ignore it.

So, my very late update:

Last Monday:

Been spending much time with [livejournal.com profile] haunted_attics  and [livejournal.com profile] special_trille. I suspect we cafe to often. We went to see "Over the Fence" which was fantastic. Oh, I forgot to mention, Attics and I went as chaperones for [livejournal.com profile] special_trille  and her ambiguously!straight future husband. The horror on his face when he realised it wasn't just *one* friend, but *two* - ah, priceless. And Cruel.

After the show, we went to - surprise, surprise - a cafe for drinks, bonding session, and harrassing of the poor boy. Luckily for him though, he wasn't the only target. Let me re-enact:

Sitting around chatting and oversharing. Suddenly...

[livejournal.com profile] special_trille: Hey look! Championship Connect Four!
We all turn around to have a look.
Me: Oh, let's go watch.

We all leave our table and move to a more convenient spot where we gawk and make nuisances of ourselves quietly and unobtrusively watch the game. (Is unobtrusively even a word? Anyway, digressing.)

It was a very intense game, with us commenting and making tut-tut noises every time Red made a move.

Me: Well, clearly, Yellow has this game completely won. This is torturous. I can't watch. It's so humiliating.
[livejournal.com profile] haunted_attics: Yeah, definitely. There's no way Red can come back from that last move.
[livejournal.com profile] special_trille: It's too painful to watch. I mean, Yellow has got him so many ways. It's not even a contest.
Ambiguous!Straight Guy: Where? I can't see it. How? Huh?
*Glare at A!SG*

Red: Will you guys stop with the commentary!
Slowly contemplating his next move.

Me: (Whispering) Yellow's won. Two more moves and the game's over.
[livejournal.com profile] special_trille  and [livejournal.com profile] haunted_attics nodding in agreement.

Red: How? How can you tell, the game's barely started!

Red is now very nervous and has a panicked look about him. He's cautiously weighing his next move. Finally, decides...

Group: No! Oh, too bad.
[livejournal.com profile] special_trille: Oh, bad move! Bad move!
[livejournal.com profile] haunted_attics: I can't watch! I can't watch!
Me: (To Yellow) He's got you. One more move and he's won.
Ambiguous!Straight Guy: Where? I can't see it. How? I don't see it.

Yellow makes his move.

Group: NO!
[livejournal.com profile] special_trille: Wait! Wait! He can still win!
Red: What are you talking about? He's just won!
[livejournal.com profile] special_trille: Yeah, but we were hoping for the twist. The forced victory. See, if he went there instead...
[livejournal.com profile] haunted_attics: ...it would have forced you to go there, and Yellow would go there, and he can connect four three times.

Red: (Turning and glaring at me) You! It was all you! The one on the right! This is all your fault.
Me: *blink* *blink* Me? What did I do?
Red: That's it, next Wednesday, 8.30 pm. That's a dare!
Me:: Double dare! Ooh, ooh! Physical Challenge! Whatever. I'm gonna kick your butt Mister Man!

Ok, well, that last bit didn't happen, but we were challenged. And last Saturday, after spending an hour practicing, we've decided that [livejournal.com profile] special_trille will be our representative and I'll be the second. Trille is exceptionally good at Connect Four. Undefeated.

Thursday Night:

Worked late. Realised it was [livejournal.com profile] ascetic_hedony's birthday. Went looking for one of those 20c toy dispensing machines. Dropped the gift off to him. Hey, don't look at me like that! A 20c gift is better than no gift. Nothing exciting happened as he was having dinner with his family.

Friday Night:

Went to the Skylab Launch at the Moors Building in Freo with [livejournal.com profile] haunted_attics . It's very cool. It's artwork (visual, digital, audio and graphic) about the Skylab crash in the 70s. My favourite was the 3D screen. I highly recommend seeing it.

Then off to Clancy's in Applecross, where the food is not as great as Freo's, but still good. However, there was excellent live music and games - oh the games. I have two things to say about this:
1. [livejournal.com profile] haunted_attics is crap at games, and
2. We soooooo rock at Jenga.

We started with Connect Four. We played four rounds. [livejournal.com profile] haunted_attics  kept losing. She has no tactics, always playing defensive, always playing the same game. Now, I'm crap at the game and hadn't played since I was in year three. So you can imagine how bad [livejournal.com profile] haunted_attics  is. This was again illustrated the next day during our one hour Connect Four trials.

Then we went on th Guess Who. This was definitely [livejournal.com profile] haunted_attics' game. I won the first round, she won the second, but the *third* round, was just amazing. [livejournal.com profile] haunted_attics  just looked at me and outright guessed my person. Psychic!

After this, we played the most amazing game of Jenga. We made it to 27 levels. Now, I'm sure some of you are thinking, "Yeah, that's pretty good, but amazing? Nuh-uh!" Please bear in mind *I* was playing. With [livejournal.com profile] haunted_attics.  We were lucky the damn thing didn't topple after our third move. At any rate, I digress. We were going for the 28th level when it crashed. Again, the game went to me. It was such a brilliant game, we decided to quit while we were ahead and rest on our record breaking laureals.

Finally, we arrived at [livejournal.com profile] haunted_attics' downfall. UNO. I easily won the first 2 games, but haunted_attics  surprisingly won the thrid game. The power and glory must have gotten to her and she wanted to paly more. I did suggest that she retire as Supreme Champion of the Univers, but she refused, so heady was the rush from winning. Like a woman possessed she started dealing the next round. Five successive losses did not dampen her enthusiasm, she was obsessed. An hour later, and still on a losing spree, I had decided that enough was enough.

Me: This is the last game!
[livejournal.com profile] haunted_attics : OK.

The hand is dealt. Five minutes later, I have 5 cards in my hand, [livejournal.com profile] haunted_attics  has two cards.

[livejournal.com profile] haunted_attics *bounces up and down, giggling.* Places her second last card on the pile and looks at me expectantly.
Me: Um, UNO?
[livejournal.com profile] haunted_attics: Oh shit! Picks up 2 more cards.

Needless to say, I won the game. Fun was had by all. Much gloating was had by me. Like taking candy from a baby. But hey, a victory is a victory. Plus, I rarely win, so let me the hell alone!

Saturday Afternoon:

Went for coffee with [livejournal.com profile] special_trille, [livejournal.com profile] haunted_attics and Emma to celebrate AH's birthday. Not that we did any celebrating, but it was lovely. We had coffee, played games, went to get porny stuff, had ice cream, and returned to Trille's place where she made us dinner. How could that be bad?

After feeding us, AH had to head off home for some much needed rest. Attics and I decided to overstay our welcome. We played the Stuck on a Desert Island game. Trille chose her 10 celebrities rather quickly, and decided to have some bonding time with the computer and internet. She had neglected them all week, poor luvs. After an hour of chosing and editing our list of celebrities, Attics and I started talking about Titania and Oberon. That lasted for ages, but it was interesting.

Anyway, my Desert Island List:

1. Johnny Depp (He was on all our list)
2. Alan Rickman
3. Christina Ricci
4. Paul McDermott
5. Lucy Lui
6. Laurell K Hamilton
7. Tori Amos (Because caging Ani DiFranco would destroy her soul)
8. Wil Anderson
9. Adam Spencer
10. David Bowie

Who would be on YOUR list?

Something along the line of:

We're going to try and find you so we can sexual harrass you, but just in case we don't, please pretend that we embarrassed and humiliated you in front of your friends. (Lewd and suggestive comment which I can't remember - wait it was something about missing our double teaming him and hope to do it again some time.)
