Yesterday night, I get an SMS around 8pm from Attics. On Monday, I was over at her place watching Idol and Lost when she gets a phone call. A few minutes later...
Attics: Are you doing anything tomorrow?
Me: Working.
Attics: I mean tomorrow night from 6.30 to 9?
Me: Working. Why?
Attics: I need someone to help me babysit.
Me: (looking highly sceptical* Someone's leaving you with their kid?
Attics: No, I have to babysit a Japanese friend of L's.
Me: Oh, ok. I'm working. I normally finish around 8pm. I'll help after that.
So, I head off to Villa Italia to meet Attics and Kimoko.
Attics: (loud, very bad pidgeon english) Kimoko, this Jasmin. Jahs-min. She friend.
Me: ?!?!? The hell? She's Japanese not deaf. Or stupid.
Attics: She can't speak english. She won't understand.
Me: Ok. What have you been doing?
Attics: Driving around to closed Karaoke places and having icecream on this cold bitter night.
We go into my car and head of to the Varga Lounge where there's latin dancing. Except it wasn't. It was RnB night. We only drove past the place, but seeing the people in there, it was obvious. Oh, this was so embarrassing.
Attics: (loudly to Kimoko)Tuesday. Perth. Closed. Boring. Sorry.
Kimoko: Oh, it's OK.
We drive around a litte more and I suggest we play pool. But instead of Pot Black, we discovered a new karaoke place. And it's cheap, and it's cool! So off we went and spent the next 3 hours in there singing badly. So badly in fact that people in another room caming rushing in to make sure we weren't being murdered. Well, Kimoko actually is a good singer.
Moral of the story: Karaoke will bring people together.
Side note:
Noticed a lot of Michelle songs and Jenny songs, but no Jasmin songs. I scanned for Boo songs and was delighted to find quite a few. Then I came across: Me and you and a dog named Boo. Huh.
Also as I was going through the song list, I noticed a song called Cathy's Clown. It made me think of Scot. Not, that he's not always on my mind, it's just that it made me think of him even more.

What was that? Huh? DID WE FORGET SOMEONE ON THIS KARAOKE JAUNT?!
That's ok....*sniff in superior way* I wouldn't have been able to fit you in between my social engagements anyway.
Dan's out! Out! I'm so glad, the poor honey.

I'm also glad that Dan the Man is gone. Boy cannot sing for nuts.
Went out to a fancy dinner with Sue tonight and paid half price. Pretty cool. Except when these dirty old men tried to pick us up. Ewww.
